What is WAX RESIST. Wax Resist is achieved when first applying a crayon to watercolor paper and then painting on top of the crayon. The wax and water resist eachother causing the water to spread and expose the crayon.
What is ATMOSPHERIC PERSPECTIVE. Atmospheric Perspective is used to make paintings look as though the objects that are in the background of the painting are lighter in value and appear to be further away than the objects in the foreground which are typically darker in value.
What is a VALUE SCALE.
Mixing small amounts of BLACK to WHITE will create shades of gray. This process would be repeated until the white turns into a dark gray and eventually black at one end of the scale.
